Seductive in her pathos.
Born of water, sculpted by admiration.
Delicate, ever so delicate, nearly imperceptible.
Longingly subdued, yet strong, tempestuous, dynamic.
Majestic nothingness.
Anima, proudly abandoned.
Reverently noble, wrapped in humility.
Oh, in wisdom, strength, and beauty she exists.

ANIMA: Transformations of the Inner World

Each of us carries deep layers of the unconscious that constantly evolve, influence our perception, and shape our identity. The photograph ANIMA is a visual expression of this inner process—it reflects the various manifestations of the human psyche and the ways in which anima, the inner image of the feminine principle within the human psyche, emerges into consciousness.

A group of smooth, bald heads covered in intense red symbolizes different aspects of the anima, intertwining and blending while still maintaining their individuality. The expressions on the faces—ranging from calm contemplation to a subtle smile to closed eyes—depict its ever-changing nature. Yet, one figure stands apart, its gaze directed outward, looking straight into the viewer's eyes as if asking: Who are you, truly?

At first glance, the composition appears unified, but upon closer inspection, each face carries a different story. The red color symbolizes the emotional power of the anima—passion, energy, and also restlessness. Its presence can be unifying or destabilizing, depending on how well we connect with it. The detailed and realistic texture of the skin enhances the sense of the physical presence of this archetype.

With ANIMA, I sought to capture the invisible moment when the inner world breaks through to the surface and confronts reality. Each of us carries different forms of the anima—it can be an inspiring muse, an intuitive force, or a deceptive illusion. How much do we accept it, and how much do we allow it to control us?

I present this project at exhibitions, on social media, and in competitions. In 2025, ANIMA has been selected for the Czech national team in the prestigious World Photography Cup, where it has already earned the Best of Nation title.
